On December 21, 2020, STEM Challenge Initiative proudly donated five sets of Oculus virtual reality goggles to the Grand Isle School District.  This donation was done in memory of our long-time board member, the late Eric Buel, PhD.  Eric was a resident of Alburgh, Vermont, and he did so much in his career and retirement to support STEM educational opportunities in Vermont. This donation, and Dr. Buel’s contributions to the STEM Challenge Initiative, will be recognized in person at the next Annual Meeting of STEM Challenge Initiative.  Please continue to monitor our website for information about the date of that meeting, which will be held once it is safe to meet in person again.

Pictured above, STEM Challenge Initiative Chairman, Tim Smith (left), delivers the Oculus VR sets to Grand Isle School District Superintendent Michael Clark (right).  We believe these Oculus VR goggles will help to keep Eric Buel’s memory alive in our region, and we wish the Grand Isle School District all the best as they incorporate these headsets into their STEM curriculum.
